We all experience the loss of loved ones in our lives. It can be a comfort to acknowledge these deaths aloud during worship services. First Parish has a tradition of “Spoken Memorials” during part of a worship service each month The names of those dear to us who have died within the last year are read aloud and the church bell rung for each one named. The names of those who have died in that month in years past are printed in the order of service.
If you would like to have the death of a family member or dear friend named aloud in worship or printed in the order of service, you may submit their name, their relationship to you (parent, sibling, partner, child, etc.), and the date of their death using our online Spoken Memorials Form below. Alternatively, you may request a memorial via email at spokenmemorials@firstparish.info.
If you know you have previously submitted the name and information of your loved one, you do not need to submit it again. If you are unsure, you are welcome to use the email above to check.
