Giving First for October 2026
The Giving First program donates 50% of the non-pledge offering each month to a charitable organization that we feel is consistent with Unitarian Universalist principles. The program began in November 2009, and First Parish has donated over $250,000 to more than 70 organizations.
For October 2026, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Second Step will share half the offering collected during Sunday worship at First Parish. The Second Step provides free, trauma-informed services for survivors of domestic violence throughout Greater Boston and beyond, helping survivors of domestic violence heal and thrive in safe and supportive communities.. They are dedicated to ending the cycle of abuse with their wraparound support, including safety planning, legal services, housing stabilization, support groups, and community education.
The other half of the offering supports the life and work of First Parish.
