Community Covenant Conversation: The Courtyard Crabapple Tree
September 3 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
In the middle of First Parish’s courtyard–a multiuse space that also serves as our memorial garden–is a crabapple tree… with the best branches for climbing. But (we might wonder), can kids climb it?
We have competing commitments: safety, fun, the health of the tree, & honoring the dead. Let’s use this crabapple tree as a case study–not simply to make a rule, but to explore the deeper questions that hang on the tree and articulate how we want to be a multigenerational community together.
Join this participatory workshop, facilitated by Rev. Stevie, to learn more about covenant conversations by practicing them. Everyone is welcome. Parents, kids (grade two and up), Property Committee members, Memorial Garden stewards, Parish leaders, Religious Education volunteers, and experienced tree climbers are encouraged to attend!
A light (kid-friendly) dinner will be provided.
