Sharing Circle on Inauguration Day

Many of us are feeling challenging emotions related to the direction of our country and our world — grief, fear, anger, incredulity, sadness, etc. We may also sometimes feel pressure to appear optimistic or determined. Presenting an upbeat face can feel exhausting or isolating, even if we see the wisdom in keeping active and not dragging other people down.

This gathering will invite participants to share the hard feelings, whatever they are. We will use a structure inspired by restorative justice circles to create a space for careful listening and deep sharing. This is not a meeting for making decisions or planning anything. Instead, it’s an opportunity to be in community, to speak from the heart, and to really hear each other.
