Memorial for Dr. Kathleen Lentz

Dr. Kathleen Lentz, wife of First Parish congregant David Harvey, died on September 10, 2026. Kathleen’s husband David attends services at First Parish and is an active participant in a monthly Covenant Group.

Kathleen practiced psychiatry from 1993 until she retired in 2017, at various hospitals, group homes, and other institutions, and most recently in private practice in Concord, MA. She had a wide variety of interests and accomplishments. A published poet, she composed poems throughout her adult life. As an engaged citizen, she loved door to door canvassing for her favored candidates. In retirement, she revived her clarinet playing she had learned and enjoyed when young. And throughout her adult life, she enjoyed not only the company of friends and family, but she also had the gift of engaging comfortably with strangers from all walks of life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at First Parish on Saturday, October 10th at 2pm. Rev. Stevie Carmody will officiate. The service will be inspired by Quaker tradition, where all those who would like to offer a tribute, relate an anecdote, or provide some remembrance of Kathleen are invited to do so – please contact Rev. Stevie Carmody at mre@firstparish.info if you would like to speak. There will be time for spontaneous offerings at the end of the service. After the service, light refreshments and conversation will be available in the Vestry. All are invited to attend in support for David and their family. The service will not be livestreamed.
