***THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 4:00PM.***
Join us for this two-part workshop to learn more about the landscape of white supremacy here in the Commonwealth. Here’s a description from our presenters:In the first session, we’ll explore the current landscape of white supremacist activity in New England. We’ll look closely at several groups and individuals and the events they have held. We’ll also discuss other types of less well known activities local white supremacists engage in. We will also discuss Antifa and the Culture Wars. Believing we are not powerless, we’ll consider the spectrum of resistance, a tool for discussion developed by the Jewish Partisan Foundation. In the second session we’ll move from the conceptual to concrete and discuss things people and organizations can do. We’ll conclude with a discussion about kinds of courage while asking ourselves, now that I have knowledge of white supremacist activity here in New England and in my community, what type of courage can I muster in order to act.
Session 1: October 11, 7pm on Zoom
Session 2: November 19, 4pm, in the First Parish Sanctuary
Each session is two hours long. While we encourage people to attend BOTH sessions, you can attend only one.
