Kindness, Sadness and Steadfastness

May 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

In these troubling times, Elissa Ely and David Leisner are offering an evening for reflective gathering. David and Elissa have been dear friends for half a century. They have collaborated to create a 90-minute program of reading and music that focuses on three topics they find especially important right now: kindness, sadness and steadfastness. The hope is that through shining light on these experiences, we can find mutual comfort and strength.

For many years, Elissa Ely was a community psychiatrist, a commentator for “All Things Considered”, an op-ed columnist for The Boston Globe and the creator of “The Remembrance Project” on WBUR. David Leisner is a classical guitarist, international performer and composer, now head of the guitar department at Manhattan School of Music.

We hope you can join us at 7pm on May 17 in the First Parish Sanctuary. Donations to offer an honorarium to the guitarist will be gladly accepted (but not required).
