All are welcome: members, non-members, families, couples, singles, youth and children! It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know one another, relax, and have fun in community.
Whether you are seeking connection and conversation or quiet and contemplation, the Ferry Beach retreat has something for you! If you’re looking for peace and solitude, the campus is large, the beach is on-site, and the dining hall has a wonderful wrap-around porch filled with rocking chairs. You’re welcome to be as active or low-key as you wish. There are numerous attendee-run activities including, in the past, yoga, meditation, group walks along the beach and/or through the woods, a shopping trip to the Saco Goodwill, art-making, Frisbee golf outing, card and board games, puzzles and more! And Saturday night boasts both a bonfire and the famous Talent/No Talent Show.
Lodging options include:
- Camping at the Ferry Beach campground (least expensive option)
- Dorm rooms with twin/queen/bunk beds and shared bathrooms (most popular option)
- Cabins/cottages with private baths (most expensive option)
- Stay in a nearby motel and attend the retreat as a “commuter”(you arrange lodging for yourself)
Meals are provided (three on Saturday, two on Sunday)—no cooking or dishes! Yahoo!
Notes:
- The Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference center is committed to accessibility and has made several improvements to the walkways and grounds in recent years. Please see the website for more details about accessible spaces/bathrooms. If you have accessibility needs, please include specifics in the Notes section of the registration page.
- Please don’t let cost be an obstacle. Scholarships are available. Contact either of our ministers or a member of the Committee for information prior to registering.
Unlike in past years when registration for this event has been on Realm, registration will now be done through Ferry Beach’s online registration page.
A few tips on registering …
- You will have the opportunity to choose the type of room you would like (e.g. A queen room in Quillen). For those unfamiliar with the housing options, there are detailed descriptions on the registration page.
- If you are attending as a commuter but would like to have all five meals on campus, please choose “adult”, etc., and not “adult commuter” at the top of the first page of the registration. Scroll down to the bottom of the Accommodations page to choose the “Commuter” option.
- There is a “Notes” section towards the end of the registration process to provide additional information including requests for specific rooms/roommates, ADA requirements, and scholarship info. Please note that Ferry Beach will make every effort to accommodate room requests, but they cannot be guaranteed, as room assignments may shift as people sign up who have specific needs, rather than preferences.
- Ferry Beach asks for a 25% deposit at the time of registration, but if that is not practical for you or you would like a scholarship, you may skip the payment field and your registration will still be made.
- We have established a $550 price cap for groups who register for dorm accommodations. The price cap does not apply if you choose to stay in the premium Cabins and Cottages, only dorm housing. Please specify “Price Cap” in the Notes section if your registration total exceeds that cap.
- You are welcome to contact the Ferry Beach registration coordinator by phone to register or make adjustments to your online registration if needed. Ferry Beach wants to make our registration experience as smooth as possible.
