Climate Legislation with Sen. Cindy Friedman

The Climate Action Working Group (CAWG) invites you to participate in an online (Zoom) meeting with Senator Cindy Friedman on Monday, October 30 7pm – 8:30pm. We especially encourage participation from UUs living in the communities represented by Sen. Friedman: Arlington, Woburn, Burlington, Billerica, and eastern and northern Lexington.
In this meeting, we will hear from Sen. Friedman about her perspectives related to climate legislation, and will discuss the current legislative priorities regarding climate and environmental justice that CAWG and our coalition partners share. As Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, Sen. Friedman can help us understand how climate change legislation can be enacted in a legislative system where that committee has a big role in determining what becomes law and what gets funded.
