Ways to get involved

First Parish runs on community involvement, whether it’s

  • “Turning outward” to join in social justice activities like “Action Sunday”
  • “Turning inward” to the spiritual, such as in covenant groups
  • “Side by side” in community activities like baking on a Sunday morning for coffee hour
  • “Church workings” for keeping First Parish running, from raking leaves or fixing chairs on a Saturday as a “Property working bee” to joining a standing committee focused on religious education, membership, social justice, and more.

To find out more about what’s happening, sign up for the weekly E-Bulletin that is emailed to members and friends each Thursday. Sign up on the website or fill out a “Connections Card” at the Welcoming Table on Sunday morning.

Whether you want to just lend a hand for a couple hours, meet others who share your interests, or join with others to make a bigger impact on the world, there are many opportunities to engage with First Parish.

Our Engage program fosters a culture of connection and engagement by helping congregants find meaningful opportunities to participate in our spiritual community. By collecting individual’s Skills & Interests in our secure Realm Connect portal, we can match them with groups, teams and events to consider. If you have a Realm Connect account, complete your Engage Skills & Interests profile on the Connect “Serving” page and you will receive opportunities as they arise. Alternatively, visit our Seeking Community and Volunteering pages.
