A 2023 Holiday Season!
Sunday, Dec 24, 10 am “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” (in-person only)
We’ll gather in our vestry on Christmas Eve morning for a live recording of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from Kings College Chapel at Cambridge University. Come together with others to enjoy music and inspiration. Hot beverages and donuts will be served! Led by Worship Associate David Whitford.
Sunday, December 24 Candlelight Services
4:00 pm (in-person only; this service will be ASL interpreted)
6:00 pm (in-person and on-line)
The Christmas Eve services, a highlight of the season, occur twice due to the number of people attending. The services feature the lighting of candles, organ fanfares and children reading the ancient tale. Rev. Erica Richmond offers a homily.
Holidays in Religious Education– December 2023
Sunday Morning Programming
- No Preschool or other Religious Education programming on the mornings of December 24th and 31st. Nursery childcare available on these Sundays.
Note, we’ll have our annual Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24th at 4pm and 6pm.
Get Involved with First Parish Religious Education this Holiday Season
Magazine collection Old magazines around? Bring in magazines with heavy covers only, to be used for our Christmas tree decoration. Drop off outside Stevie’s office.
Bake cookies for Christmas Eve service Children and parents are invited to join Stevie and Carolyn Hodges for a cookie baking on Friday, December 22nd from 3pm-5pm, in the First Parish Kitchen and Vestry. These cookies will be enjoyed between the Christmas eve services (though maybe we’ll sneak a few early!). RSVP to Stevie (stevie@firstparish.info) and Carolyn (cjjhodges@gmail.com) if you can make it.
