Represent First Parish at the UU Urban Ministry Annual Meeting

The 189th Annual Meeting of the UU Urban Ministry (UUUM) is coming up. As a member congregation, First Parish is entitled to have 3 voting delegates. Perhaps you would like to become one of them, along with our two incumbent delegates, Maryglenn Vincens and Lois Fine. The event is on May 23, 2024.

UUUM is a non-profit organization located in a historic Unitarian church in Roxbury, Massachusetts, with a mission to “work across race and place to dismantle racism and white supremacy culture and to advance racial, social, and economic justice.” It provides programming planned and implemented by and for the Roxbury community. It also conducts monthly educational programs for UU congregations. Delegates act as ambassadors within their congregations, and work with UUUM in a variety of ways, including helping to keep our congregation informed of UUUM programs, activities and volunteer opportunities (for example, through announcements in worship and the E-Bulletin, and by directing communications to appropriate committees).
Please contact the Social Justice Committee (socialjustice@firstparish.info) for more information or to apply to become a delegate.
