Settled Minister Search

Settled Minister Search Committee

First Parish is flourishing as we continue our transition toward a new settled ministry. We are now forming a Settled Minister Search Committee to help find the next lead minister who will guide our community forward.

Every voice matters. We invite all members to submit recommendations by March 2.

About the Search Committee

The Search Committee is selected through a shared process between the Parish Committee and the congregation, following Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) best practices. This committee serves on behalf of the entire congregation and plays a vital role in shaping First Parish’s future.

Members of past search committees often describe this work as one of their most meaningful contributions to the church.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a committee that is representative, trusted, and accountable to the whole congregation. Please recommend members who:

  • Listen deeply and collaborate well
  • Represent the entire congregation, not just one group
  • Can discern a spiritual leader beyond traditional hiring models
  • Are active members with demonstrated participation and willingness to lead

Submit a Recommendation

Deadline: February 22

You may also reach out to any Parish Committee or Transition Team member with questions or to discuss the process. Members who have not submitted a recommendation will be contacted after February 22.
