The congregation stepped up with a significant response to the request for search committee member recommendations. Thank you! We are grateful for the thoughtful submissions and are extremely fortunate to have so many qualified members in our congregation.
In the coming weeks, the Parish Committee will follow the process outlined by the UUA to develop a list of nominees. Starting with the list of frequently recommended members, we will contact each person to confirm they are willing and able to conduct the settled search process over the coming program year. The time commitment is significant and stability within the final committee is critical. Our goal is to develop a list of search committee nominees that represent the many facets of First Parish membership and are eager to tackle the search work ahead.
In April, the Parish Committee will announce the list of nominees along with short biographical statements from each of the candidates. We hope this will provide ample time for congregation members to get to know the nominees prior to the scheduled election. Members of the congregation will elect the final seven-member Search Committee at our Annual Meeting, Sunday May 3, 2026.
