SUMMARY:Flash Quilting in the Vestry
DESCRIPTION:Welcome quilters of all skill levels!  Please join us Saturday\, January 10\, 2026 in the vestry for a fun day of sewing and community. We will be working to complete the 2026 Harvest Moon Fair raffle quilt as well as setting up the 2027 quilt.\n\n\nWe will start at 10am and finish up around 2pm.  The 2026 quilt is ready for hand quilting! — Also- we plan to start blocks for 2027; Wendy and I will bring materials and provide cutting and sewing directions for a simple block at our Saturday gathering.\n\nWhat to bring:\n– sewing threads\, needles for  the hand quilting project\n– a working sewing machine (that you know how to use)\, be sure you have your pedal and the machine power cord!\n– a 1/4 inch foot (seam allowance is 1/4 inch)– if you do not have this\, fear not- we can work around it…\n– sewing and cutting tools (scissors\, seam ripper\,etc) and thread (neutral is great do not worry about matching colors).\n– cutting rulers if you have them\nDo you have an Iron and Ironing Board??   Please bring it along\, multiple irons are welcome!\n\n– Water bottle/ beverage and lunch and/or snack ( NOTE: we will not eat/drink in the vestry– this is a mask optional environment- Certainly plan to snack in the narthex\, parlor\, or find an open meeting room.

DESCRIPTION:Pie Palace on Arlington Town Day\, September 20\, 2025 \nPie Palace is on Sept. 20th\, serving slices of delicious homemade pie to happy customers on Town Day. We need help from bakers\, booth workers\, set-up and clean-up. For newer members\, this is a fun event where you will get to socialize with fellow congregants while helping to raise funds for social justice. DESCRIPTION:Come join us in gaining insight about some of the issues around land and people in the West Bank. You are invited to attend a showing of the Academy Award winning documentary\, No Other Land. The film resulted from the collaboration of a young Palestinian activist and a young Israeli journalist\, and it shows the process and the personal impacts of the displacement of a Palestinian community after Israeli authorities designated the area to become a military training zone. The showing will be followed by a brief and optional discussion session. \nThis event is co-hosted by the First Parish Working Group for Peace and Justice in Israel-Palestine and Arlington for Palestine.
