DESCRIPTION:Plan to join a group of music lovers in our Stanton Parlor for an hour of seasonal songs. Everyone is welcome!   Wendy Covell will support us on piano\, and we’ll choose our favorites as we go along.  Singing beloved carols from our hymnals\, we’ll have harmony parts available.  We’ll be free to focus on melody or to harmonize as we like.\nSinging together in person is very special.  However\, we have worked out ways to feel part of a musical group via zoom.  We will have a zoom link available\, and if we hear from anyone who definitely wants to join us on zoom\, we’ll send the link to interested parties and set up the zoom session.  Just let us know so that we’re sure to be ready.\nQuestions and comments to cheriminton@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a conversation with Linda Dittmar. \nLinda will share memories of growing up as a Jew in Israel\, starting before Israel became a state\, and\, as an adult\, gradually coming to see and understand painful aspects of the history Israelis and Palestinians share\, which Israel has sought to hide. \nLinda taught literature and film studies at University of Massachusetts at Boston for forty years. The event is sponsored by the First Parish Working Group on Peace and Justice in Israel-Palestine\, and is co-organized with Arlington for Palestine. Light lunch foods will be available. Copies of Linda’s book\, Tracing Homelands: Israel\, Palestine\, and the Claims of Belonging\, will be available for purchase after the end of the program. \nSeptember 28th in the First Parish Parlor\n12 pm- 1:30 pm \n

Her work reflects the tension between chaos and order\, fluidity and form\, reflecting the natural world’s unpredictability and underlying design. An artist talk is also scheduled for Thursday\, 11/6/25 at 7 PM and the show will be up until November 15th.
