DESCRIPTION:Please join us and help create the First Parish Harvest Moon quilts for 2024 and 2025! \n Saturday\, March 23\, 10am – 3pm\, in the First Parish Vestry. \nPlease register for this event by email to Carolyn Hodges\, STAR@firstparish.info \nCalling all quilters\, sewists and interested folk!   We will sew together in the vestry offering two projects–\this is an opportunity for us to get a bit ahead of the Harvest moon Fair schedule. \n1) Creating a brand new quilt:   We will be making a simple block.  These will be assembled and quilted for the 2025 Fall raffle quilt.  You will need to bring a working sewing machine (that you know how to use)\, sewing tools and thread.  We also need rotary cutting tools\, rulers and mat (if you have them– and we can share!).  Extension cords and power strips are also a help. \n2)  For Harvest Moon Fair  2024\, we already have a completed quilt top (thank you Wendy Page) — this is ready for hand quilting–   we will prepare (sandwich) the quilt and begin hand quilting this quilt as our 2024 Harvest Moon Fair quilt.  This is an excellent opportunity for those new to quilting and willing to hand stitch. \nEven if you don’t sew we welcome your company cutting and pressing.  Fabric welcome too (100 percent cotton please)–  we will also have a selection.  If you are unable to join us in person and want to help- please RSVP so we can include you too! \nQuestions? contact Carolyn Hodges (STAR@firstparish.info) \nRain date: Saturday April 13\, same time and place.

Last year at our end of year picnic we celebrated Tina’s incredible service to our congregation\, this year let’s take time to celebrate another vibrant year for our community as well as the conclusion of Stevie’s first year with us!\n  \nWe will be providing grilled food (including veggie options!) and some sides. Feel free to bring a dessert or a drink to share\, but please join even if you can’t bring something – there will be plenty of food! This event is hosted by the Minister of Religious Education Transition Committee.\n  \nWe are in need of volunteers to ensure this event runs smoothly. These are the people who are most likely to listen to you and respect what you tell them. However even with these people it’s not always easy to raise politically sensitive issues. Please come to this one-hour workshop to practice how you can influence your network and promote democracy.
