SUMMARY:Alliance Program: Living Together\, Living Apart: Multi-Generational Challenges\, Creativity and Inspirations
DESCRIPTION:Join Alliance members and friends for an intergenerational evening of facilitated conversation with a panel of First Parish members who will share stories and reflect on the creative ways they are managing housing needs and caregiving across the generations within their families\, as well as lived experience when such challenges weigh heavily. \nWe’ll talk about multigenerational living arrangements\, childcare\, elder care\, sandwich generation experiences\, and coping with the challenges of long distance caregiving\, plus questions and stories that you bring along! Join the conversation with: \nJudy Dyer\nLois Fine\nRose Sawyer Hackett\nAnnette Sawyer\nCathy Slesnick \nChildcare with pizza supper will be available; please register your child(ren) here\, to help us get a headcount. \nThe Alliance serves First Parish by supporting women in our congregation as well as advancing the interests and efforts of our entire church. With its own endowment and investments\, the Alliance remains a financially independent group within First Parish. The majority of our annual expenditures go to support a charitable giving plan that focuses on organizations that serve women and families in transition. Alliance meetings\, programs\, and activities provide opportunities for learning\, ongoing fellowship\, and rich discussions. Membership in the Alliance is open to those in our church who identify as female; Alliance programs and activities are inclusive across all gender identities and ages. The modest dues support our programs. \nFor information about future programs\, please visit the Alliance page on the FP website.

Our largest booth\, Household Finds is everything that doesn’t fit somewhere else.  Lots of kitchen wares\, including small appliances\, and a solid mass of other bargains. \nToyland.  Games and toys like puzzles\, Legos\, and squirt guns.  In past\, has featured finds like American Girl dolls and indie board games. \nJewelry Box. Rings\, bracelets\, earrings\, brooches\, scarves\, and handbags can all be found in the Jewelry box.  Everything from fun costume jewelry for dress up time at day care to sterling silver and 14K gold.  Come early because the dealers get there fast. \nReboots and Rewinds (electronics).  Computers\, monitors\, stereos\, speakers\, headphones\, keyboards and mice.  Whether it’s a Chromebook for school or an 80W amplifier\, you can find it here for less than anywhere else. \nBook Nook.  Tables and tables of books that will fuel your book group for years to come. \nThe Greenery.  A great selection of indoor and hardy outdoor plants\, pots\, and gardening accessories. \nThe Blue Table.  An unusual tradition started many years ago that draws blue plates\, cups\, vases\, and more from our Attic Treasures.  By far the prettiest table in the sanctuary. \nThe Buttery.  Baked goods are always a hit.  Wrapped for individual sale with a list of ingredients. \nCafe.  Our pop-up cafe always puts together a spectacular meal.  Never the same cuisine twice\, we’ve served spicy-sweet Caribbean\,  Vietnamese Bahn Mi\, and New Orleans muffalettas. \nRaffle.  Year after year our church community pulls together\, by hook or by crook (see what I did there)\, a beautiful quilt that is raffled on Saturday. \nDonations \n

SUMMARY:Online Voting for Congregational Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Should First Parish allow those who can’t attend Congregational Meetings in person to vote and participate online? Every Voice Matters. \nRight now\, some First Parish Members can’t vote & participate at Congregational Meetings because they’re traveling\, dealing with illness\, caring for family or have work obligations. \nWe’re exploring changing the congregational bylaws to allow every First Parish member to participate and vote in Congregational Meetings — whether they’re in the sanctuary\, at home or across the country. Join us for a conversation about this proposed change and share your thoughts & questions.
