SUMMARY:Ferry Beach Weekend in Saco\, Maine
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now closed for the 2026 Ferry Beach Retreat!\nDate: Friday September 25th (5pm) through Sunday September 27th (noon)\, 2026\nPlace: Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center\, 5 Boardwalk Drive\, Saco\, ME \nAll are welcome: members\, non-members\, families\, couples\, singles\, youth and children! It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know one another\, relax\, and have fun in community. \nWhether you are seeking connection and conversation or quiet and contemplation\, the Ferry Beach retreat has something for you!  If you’re looking for peace and solitude\, the campus is large\, the beach is on-site\, and the dining hall has a wonderful wrap-around porch filled with rocking chairs.  You’re welcome to be as active or low-key as you wish. There are numerous attendee-run activities including\, in the past\, yoga\, meditation\, group walks along the beach and/or through the woods\, a shopping trip to the Saco Goodwill\, art-making\, Frisbee golf outing\, card and board games\, puzzles and more!  And Saturday night boasts both a bonfire and the famous Talent/No Talent Show. \nLodging options include:\n\nCamping at the Ferry Beach campground (least expensive option)\nDorm rooms with twin/queen/bunk beds and shared bathrooms (most popular option)\nCabins/cottages with private baths (most expensive option)\nStay in a nearby motel and attend the retreat as a “commuter”(you arrange lodging for yourself)\n\nMeals are provided:\n\nThree on Saturday\, one on Sunday—no cooking or dishes! Yahoo!\nLunch on Sunday is an add-on this year –you’ll have the chance to choose it when you register. We hope everyone will stay for lunch after the service\, so we can wrap up the retreat together.\nDinner on Friday is also available as an add-on!\n\nNotes:\nWe will be sharing the campus with another group this year\, so the earlier you register\, the greater the likelihood that you receive your first choice of accommodation. \nThe Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference center is committed to accessibility and has made several improvements to the walkways and grounds in recent years. Please see the website for more details about accessible spaces/bathrooms. If you have accessibility needs\, please include specifics in the Notes section of the registration page. \nPlease don’t let cost be an obstacle. Scholarships are available. Contact either Rev. Jonipher or a member of the Committee for information prior to registering. \nUnlike prior to 2025 when registration for this event has been on Realm\, registration is now done through Ferry Beach’s online registration page. \nThree Registration Options:\n1. Staying On-site: Use this on-site link. Choose the room type (e.g. a queen room in Quillen).  There are detailed lodging descriptions on the registration page.\n2. Staying Off-Site (Commuter): If you are staying off-site but would like to have meals on campus\, use this commuter link.\n3. Youth Group Retreat: Registration link coming soon.  Please do not include your youth group member on your family registration.\n\nNotes on Registration:\n1. There is a “Notes” section towards the end of the registration process to provide additional information including requests for specific rooms/roommates\, ADA requirements\, and if you have requested a scholarship. Ferry Beach will make every effort to accommodate room requests\, but they cannot be guaranteed\, as room assignments may shift as people sign up who have specific needs\, rather than preferences.\n2. Ferry Beach asks for a 25% deposit at the time of registration\, but if that is not practical for you or you have requested a scholarship\, you may skip the payment field and your registration will still be made.\n3. We have established a $575 price cap for family groups who register for dorm accommodations.  The price cap does not apply if you choose to stay in the premium Cabins and Cottages. Please specify “Price Cap” in the Notes section if your registration total exceeds that cap.\n4. You are welcome to contact the Ferry Beach registration coordinator by phone to register or make adjustments to your online registration if needed.  Ferry Beach wants to make our registration experience as smooth as possible.\n\nDetails on rates:\n\n\n scroll right scroll left\n\n\n\n\nWeekend Cost \n\n\n\n\nDorm Rooms \n\n\n$190 \n\n\n\n\nCross Cabin \n\n\n$250 \n\n\n\n\nMetz Cabin \n\n\n$290 \n\n\n\n\nMorris/Kelley/Claflin Cottages \n\n\n$690 \n\n\n\n\nCamping \n\n\n$90 \n\n\n\n\n4 meals meal plan (18+) \n\n\n$73 (+$17 each for Fri dinner & Sun lunch) \n\n\n\n\n4 meals meal plan (9-17) \n\n\n$61 (+$14 each for Fri dinner & Sun lunch) \n\n\n\n\n4 meals meal plan (8 and under) \n\n\n$10 total (free for Fri dinner & Sun lunch) \n\n\n\n\nNote: a small portion of your registration fee goes to help fund scholarships for this event.  \n\n\nFor more information about Ferry Beach\, you can check out their website here: https://www.ferrybeach.org/\nAny questions about the retreat?   Or to join the committee (we’d love to have you!!)\, email the planning committee at ferrybeach@firstparish.info.\n\nCan’t wait to see you there!\nThe Ferry Beach Planning Committee\nAnnelise Aminoff\nJohn Chamberlain\nMonique Chaplin (chair)\nDavid D’Antonio\nMary McCartney\nMike Rie

SUMMARY:Alliance Program - Making Sense of the World: Highlights from Our Family Gap Year
DESCRIPTION:Elizabeth Hunter shares pictures and stories from six months of travel with her family around the world. Planning and pitfalls\, advice and adventures\, lessons and lived experience are all explored as she lays out the dreams and realities of stepping away from familiar routines and completely outside your comfort zone. ALL ARE WELCOME! \nThe Alliance serves First Parish by supporting women in our congregation as well as advancing the interests and efforts of our entire church. With its own endowment and investments\, the Alliance remains a financially independent group within First Parish. The majority of our annual expenditures go to support a charitable giving plan that focuses on organizations that serve women and families in transition. Alliance meetings\, programs\, and activities provide opportunities for learning\, ongoing fellowship\, and rich discussions. Membership in the Alliance is open to those in our church who identify as female; Alliance programs and activities are inclusive across all gender identities and ages.

SUMMARY:Settled Search Small Group Conversations
DESCRIPTION:If you feel invested enough in FPUUA’s future to spend a bit of your time helping us\, the Settled Minister Search Committee\, gather feedback and data about our community\, its priorities\, and its areas for growth\, then you are welcome to participate in a discussion group! Registration is required – please register online. \nOpen Small Group discussions are events where folks from all across different areas and ways of engaging with First Parish will talk about Search and our congregation together. \nFocus Group discussions are events that intentionally create space for voices from communities that make up minority populations in our congregation to be amplified\, allowing the Search Committee to hear from folks whose perspectives may be less prevalent in Open Small Groups. The goal of Focus Groups is inclusion in the Search process for as many perspectives as possible. To achieve this goal\, it is sometimes necessary to facilitate spaces where minority voices do not have to compete with majority voices to be heard. \nEach event is a one-time gathering. Each Focus Group is limited to 12 participants or less and will happen via Zoom. Open Small Group events will offer multiple concurrent discussions with 12 or fewer participants. To leave space for others to participate\, please do not register for multiple Open Small Group dates. If you would like to attend more than one Focus Group\, or to attend both an Open Small Group and a Focus Group\, you will need to fill out this form once for each. As you decide how to participate in this part of the Search process\, please be mindful of the goal to include as many unique participants as possible across the whole slate of events. \nQuestions or having difficulty registering?
