SUMMARY:Our Shared Past: The Life and World of The Saunkskwa of The Massachusett
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Indigenous Justice Working Group (IJWG) at noon in the Parlor after Sunday’s service (4/28). We will welcome Doreen Stevens\, historian and former director of the Arlington Historical Society. She will help us explore Arlington’s connection to Indigenous people\, especially The Massachusett\, on whose land our meetinghouse stands. As we learn more about the local history\, we will also offer an updated version of the Land Acknowledgment\, anticipated for a congregational vote at Annual Meeting in May. \nFor more information re: this process and the work of the IJWG\, please visit our page on the website\, at www.firstparish.info/justice-inclusion/social-justice/indigenous-justice/\, which includes our brochure\, Acknowledging This Land.
