DESCRIPTION:Registration is now closed for the 2026 Ferry Beach Retreat!\nDate: Friday September 25th (5pm) through Sunday September 27th (noon)\, 2026\nPlace: Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference Center\, 5 Boardwalk Drive\, Saco\, ME \nAll are welcome: members\, non-members\, families\, couples\, singles\, youth and children! It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know one another\, relax\, and have fun in community. \nWhether you are seeking connection and conversation or quiet and contemplation\, the Ferry Beach retreat has something for you!  If you’re looking for peace and solitude\, the campus is large\, the beach is on-site\, and the dining hall has a wonderful wrap-around porch filled with rocking chairs.  You’re welcome to be as active or low-key as you wish. There are numerous attendee-run activities including\, in the past\, yoga\, meditation\, group walks along the beach and/or through the woods\, a shopping trip to the Saco Goodwill\, art-making\, Frisbee golf outing\, card and board games\, puzzles and more!  And Saturday night boasts both a bonfire and the famous Talent/No Talent Show. \nLodging options include:\n\nCamping at the Ferry Beach campground (least expensive option)\nDorm rooms with twin/queen/bunk beds and shared bathrooms (most popular option)\nCabins/cottages with private baths (most expensive option)\nStay in a nearby motel and attend the retreat as a “commuter”(you arrange lodging for yourself)\n\nMeals are provided:\n\nThree on Saturday\, one on Sunday—no cooking or dishes! Yahoo!\nLunch on Sunday is an add-on this year –you’ll have the chance to choose it when you register. We hope everyone will stay for lunch after the service\, so we can wrap up the retreat together.\nDinner on Friday is also available as an add-on!\n\nNotes:\nWe will be sharing the campus with another group this year\, so the earlier you register\, the greater the likelihood that you receive your first choice of accommodation. \nThe Ferry Beach Retreat and Conference center is committed to accessibility and has made several improvements to the walkways and grounds in recent years. Our largest booth\, Household Finds is everything that doesn’t fit somewhere else.  Lots of kitchen wares\, including small appliances\, and a solid mass of other bargains. \nToyland.  Games and toys like puzzles\, Legos\, and squirt guns.  In past\, has featured finds like American Girl dolls and indie board games. \nJewelry Box. Rings\, bracelets\, earrings\, brooches\, scarves\, and handbags can all be found in the Jewelry box.  Everything from fun costume jewelry for dress up time at day care to sterling silver and 14K gold.  Come early because the dealers get there fast. \nReboots and Rewinds (electronics).  Computers\, monitors\, stereos\, speakers\, headphones\, keyboards and mice.  Whether it’s a Chromebook for school or an 80W amplifier\, you can find it here for less than anywhere else. \nBook Nook.  Tables and tables of books that will fuel your book group for years to come. \nThe Greenery.  A great selection of indoor and hardy outdoor plants\, pots\, and gardening accessories. \nThe Blue Table.  An unusual tradition started many years ago that draws blue plates\, cups\, vases\, and more from our Attic Treasures.  By far the prettiest table in the sanctuary. \nThe Buttery.  Baked goods are always a hit.  Wrapped for individual sale with a list of ingredients. \nCafe.  Our pop-up cafe always puts together a spectacular meal.  Never the same cuisine twice\, we’ve served spicy-sweet Caribbean\,  Vietnamese Bahn Mi\, and New Orleans muffalettas. \nRaffle.  Year after year our church community pulls together\, by hook or by crook (see what I did there)\, a beautiful quilt that is raffled on Saturday. \nDonations \n

DESCRIPTION:A community potluck dinner sponsored by the STAR committee\, will be held from 6:00-7:30 September – May on the last Wednesday of the month\, except in November/December when there will be just one potluck\, on Wednesday\, December 2. \nPotlucks will be held indoors\, in the Vestry\, except in September and May when they might be in the courtyard\, weather permitting.  All are welcome. No sign-up needed.  Please bring a dish to share (but if you can’t\, still come – there will be plenty of food for all); if possible\, bring your own dishes and utensils. \nWe will need a different group or committee to host each dinner. If you are part of a group of at least 5 people\, (including Covenant groups\, knitting groups\, dog-walking groups etc.) please consider signing up for a date to host using this Google sheet.
