Sharing Our Stories

A blog featuring stories from life at First Parish

Sarah Trilling, Visiting Steward

On a lovely evening, I met with another mom as one of my donor families. We sat in Jammin' Java for almost an hour, talked about our kids (who just so happen to be in the same grades), our jobs, and our lives as they overlap at First Parish. She's a school psychologist; I work with computers. We both love the RE program that Tina and the RE committee have created. During the winter term, I taught kindergarten at First Parish and saw the sweetness of the curriculum; the kids learn about nature, different constellations of families, god, etc.  Loren talked about teaching OWL (Our Whole Lives) at the UU church in Medford, and a few of the lessons that caused her to blush. It was a pleasure to get to know each other better!
